Summary of KCC activities in 2009


1.    High-level visits

•    Visit of the President of Albania, Mr. Bamir Topi accompanied by 100 businessmen from Albania
•    Visit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Ali Babacan and delegation of Turkish businessmen with over 100 businessmen, and participation in solemn signing of establishment  of Turkish-Kosovar Business Council
•    Visit of Albanian Prime Minister, Mr. Sali Berisha
•    Visit of Minister Jemin Gjana
•    Visit of Minister of Economy and Finance of Macedonia Mr. Fatmir Besimi (2 meetings)
•    Visits and meeting with Ambassadors of different countries
•    Visit of Slovenian President, Danilo Turk with a group around 100 Slovenian companies: Signing of three concrete agreements between Slovenian and Kosovar companies

2.    High-level meeting with Kosovo institutions

•    Over 10 official meetings with Priminister Thaçi, Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi and Manaj with a participation of business  community;
•    Over 50 official meetings with Ministers which covers economy resorts (Ministers: Shala, Limaj, Zharku, Pula, Vehapi, Bajrami, Hoxha, Yagcilar, Rasic)
•    Meeting with the President of Assembly of Kosova Mr. Jakup Krasniqi with a group of businessmen
•    Participation of President Sejdiu in all important activities of KCC
•    Meeting with Governor of CBK
•    Regular meetings with Tax Administration and Customs

3.    Data on KCC activity to provide services for business and promote of investment

•    Trade missions from: Albania, Turkey, Macedonia, Germany, Greece, France, Slovenia, Jordan, Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Italy. In these missions have attended over 1200 companies from these countries and over 3000 Kosovar companies
•    Over 2500 companies has visited KCC to seek information and services or to discuss about possibilities to invest in Kosovo
•    Visits of the President: Participation in the 12. Meeting of Euroasia in Istanbul, Participation in the Strategic Forum 2009 in Bled (Slovenia), participation in the meeting of the presidents of Chambers of Commerce of formal Yugoslavia countries and countries which signed CEFTA 2006 agreement in Montenegro, participation in the annual conference of Swiss cooperation with Eastern Europe in Bern (Zwitzerland), participation in 3rd International meeting of IRU Academy in Geneva, participation in the Strategic Forum of Western Balkans organized by EBRD in Budapest, etc.
•    Regular participation in the Economic Forum of Vienna (Austria)
•    Organization of 3 fairs
•    Participation of business community in 15 international fairs under KCC organization
•    5 trainings with WIFI and 4 visits in Austria
•    Meeting with the representatives of OECD, EUROCHAMBERS, FMN, BB

•    Certification with ISO
•    Membership in IRU
•    Successful lobbying for interests of business
•    KCC part of state institutions agenda and almost all important visits of international delegations



5.    Priorities in 2010

•    Promotion of Kosovo as Brand focused on economic values and investment opportunities
•    Lobbying for resolving the issue of representation of Kosovo in CEFTA
•    Increase of services number for business community
•    Strengthening the role of KCC in economic-social processes
