The Private Public Partnership an important factor for the economic development

Prishtina, 11 March 2010 - The law on the Public Private Partnership has created favorable conditions and it is a very important factor for the further development of Kosovar economy.

The president of the KCC Mr. Besim Beqaj during the meeting of presentation of the Public Private Partnership law in Kosovo stressed that this partnership comes with the sense which means attracting the foreign investments and it is collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

"In order to know the law for the private public partnerships and opportunities that this law gives this activity we will continue to implement through regions known as the law which enables our companies to enter in to serious projects for the country", said president Beqaj.


President Beqaj said that now are created favorable conditions for private public partnership and that this law and this partnership will enable overcoming the difficult economic situation which is facing Kosovo.

"The purpose is that through the Public Private Partnership, the public private dialogue to overcome from these situations and to open new opportunities for the enterprises, citizens and of course for the state".


The Minister of Economy and Finance, Ahmet Shala, mentioning the high level of co-operation with the KCC said it should begin with better knowledge, with opportunities that the law gives and to support the investments in various sectors by aw based on private public partnership.

Minister Shala emphasized the Kosovo Government's commitment to capital investments, which have recorded a large increase in the initiation and implementation of major infrastructure projects and if there becomes a comparison with previous years the budget of Kosovo has has tripled the public investment.

"We believe it is the private sector which should cover investments in different sectors, where there is sufficient public investment. We will make possible that conform with the law the privat sector to participate on investments and the absence of investments to be covered by the private sector", said Mr. Shala.


The representatives of MEF informed the participants in detail with investment opportunities in the framework of public private partnership.
