Macedonia: bankruptcies increased 120 percent

Skopje, August 11, 2010 – During the first six months of 2010 the number of bankrupted companies increased of 120%.


Macedonian companies, especially small and medium sized enterprises consists of 90% of all companies in Macedonia and it still remains weak in front of the global economic crisis.


According to the Ministry of Economy the number of bankrupted companies during Janar-June 2010 was 746, comparing with the same period of last year it was 336, which means 120% more than the last year.



Otherwise the number of new companies was increased on 5 percent comparing with 2007.
